After two months of back to back 10in3 s in Feb and Mar 2010, we are coming out with our Street Smart report this month. While both 10in3 and Street Smart are growth focused companies, Street Smart picks are different in a way that these companies have established their track record and have lower exposure to risks. And yes, these are the companies with expected returns of 4 to 5 times in 3 years, while the 10in3 s have a target of 8 to 10 times in 3 years.

Our 10in3 s for the month of Feb and Mar 2010 are already up by more than 60% and especially the 10in3 for the month of Feb 2010 looks very strong currently. While that has been the case with our latest 10in3 s, our latest Street Smart (Jan 2010) is currently up by more than 140% in the last 3 months time.

Well, Enuf of the returns story. It has almost become a usual stuff for us to come out with a small cap as our pick and see it growing manifold in just a few months time.

Getting back to the Street Smart pick for this month, there is no denying that today the whole world is increasingly focusing on affordable health care. Due to focus on reducing costs plastics have come to the fore front of medical innovation. In a country like India where the focus on improving the health care system is increasing by the day, the medical disposable industry will have a major role to play to help achieve the final goal.

With a population of 1.15 billion, India will need to at least 2 million beds in the next 10 years in order to attain a modest target of 2 per 1000 of population. With a total health care value of Rs 1800 billion, the potential for medical disposable equipment is, indeed large.

The Indian domestic medicare devices industry is expected to grow from Rs 60 billion to Rs 76.5 billion in four years. The overall market is estimated at Rs 150 billion. Apart from the electronic instruments and major equipment, substantial progress has been registered in the area of a number of medical accessories and consumables. Things are already improving for Indian Medicare equipment manufacturers. India is being looked upon by the whole world to provide low cost solutions with regards to medical accessories, consumables & disposable. Many Indian companies have been able to sell their products across the globe due to price advantage.

With the new US health care bill focusing on reducing health care costs, these small Indian companies will have a good time in the coming few years.

It should be noted that the Street Smart for this month is on a expansion spree currently - Product expansion, capacity expansion, geographic expansion, even margin expansion :)
With the kind of developments that we expect, we are convinced that this company will give a return of 4 to 5 times in the next 3 years.
